Mohammed Amin Inaq's son took the throne and in the process earned the name, 'Iltazar the Fake', due to his questionable heritage. Wanting to link himself somehow with the Genghis dynasty, he ordered the historian Munis to write an account of the history of the world, starting with Adam and finishing with none other than his humble self. Also in a quest for legitimacy and popularity, Iltazar battled against
the Kazakhs, who had been busily rallying the Bukharan Emir to their cause
since defeat by Mohammed Amin Inaq. He marched into battle near Bukhara,
leaving Khiva largely unprotected. Soon the neighbouring Yomut Turkomans
were making the most of his absence and pillaging the city. | |
