Tucked away in the North East quarter of the Ichan Kala is a newly opened, family run hotel owned by Komiljon. Komiljan is Khiva's main carpet trader and owns the carpet shop near Pakhlavan Mahmoud. As a result the entire hotel is festooned with both antique and modern carpets. The hotel is named in memory Komiljon's brother who died of cancer and is rapidly becoming popular with independent travellers offering negotiable prices and student discounts.
This are ten rooms including a five bedroom dormitory all with en suite facilities and some with air con. There are also two spacious communal rooms and a balcony for those wishing to sleep outside. Prices are comparable with the Arkanchi, one night coasting $25 including three meals and $15 without. He also offers a student discount to those with student ID cards, charging $10 a night.
